چکیده

Sustainability and materials recycling have increasingly acquired importance in various aspects of life. It has well known that 95% roads are paved with hot mix asphalt (HMA), their raw require a lot energy to prepare lead the release considerable amount CO2 into environment. As result, developing new technologies sustainable asphaltic mixture consumes less is eco-friendly becomes necessity. This research aims develop half-warm by exposing cold bituminous emulsion (CBEM) post treatment using microwave technique, as utilising crushed glass waste fine aggregate. The newly developed (half warm mixture, or HWBEM) evaluated terms two main failure distress (cracking rutting) wheel track (WTT) indirect tensile tolerance index, cracking index (CT-index), addition volumetric durability evaluation term air voids content (AV) retained Marshall stability test (RMS). Tests results regarding mechanical, volumetric, properties indicated was relatively comparable some referenced CBEM superior one aspect. Moreover, sustainability aspect achieved successfully replacing significant virgin aggregate glass. Based on program, it can be said HWBEM incorporated work structural surface layer.

Ncat Evaluates Warm Mix Asphalt

In addition to lower emissions warm mix asphalt has several advantages over hot mix asphalt such as fuel energy savings, decreased binder aging and an extended paving season (Photo courtesy: Matthew Corrigan, FHWA) The National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) is evaluating warm mix asphalt (WMA) technologies. WMA technology allows the mixing, lay down, and compaction of asphalt mixes at si...

Laboratory Evaluation and Pavement Design for Warm Mix Asphalt

For many years, the asphalt industry has been aware of the energy savings and environmental benefits inherent in cold mix or warm mix asphalt technologies. Environmental awareness and the need for improved energy efficiency has increased rapidly over the past few years and extensive measures such as the air pollution reduction targets set by the European Union under the Kyoto Protocol have enco...

Investigation of Warm-Mix Asphalt Using Iowa Aggregates

The implementation of WMA is becoming more widespread with a growing number of contractors using various WMA technologies. Early research suggests WMA may be more susceptible to moisture damage than traditional HMA mixes. Asphalt performance tests can be a good way of measuring material responses that can be correlated with pavement performance. It is important for owner/agencies to know that t...

Effects of Warm-mix Asphalt Additives on Asphalt Mixture Characteristics and Pavement Performance

The primary objective of this research is to evaluate the feasibility of several WMA mixtures as potential asphalt paving mixtures for Nebraska pavements. To that end, three well-known WMA additives (i.e., Sasobit, Evotherm, and Advera synthetic zeolite) were evaluated. For a more realistic evaluation of the WMA approaches, trial pavement sections of the WMA mixtures and their HMA counterparts ...
